This is a msg from a non muslim that i saw in one site and i loved:
I am not Muslim, but have quite a few Muslim friends and I know enough overall about this religion to know that it is based off of a peaceful nature and directs people towards being kindhearted. So, for those of you who disprove of what this woman is wearing I think it best if you yourself remember your religious values (or if you don't have a religion morals at least) before you start saying hateful things. Everyone has a right to express their opinion please just do it w/ class and kindness. My personal opinion is that this is a great message to spread to naive people who hate on this religion because it is linked to terrorist attacks (yet ignore the fact that all religions went wrong somewhere due to being used for justification of violent acts.) People who practice Islam are just like the rest of us they deserve a spot in the media and equal rights as well as the right to publicly support their beliefs.

Genital Mutilation

Female genital mutilation is a practice with more than 3000 years, began to be practiced in Africa and unfortunately spread around the world.

It is not a religious practice, in fact besides being a cultural practice is prohibited in Islam.
I did not know that before seeing a movie about an model born in Sudan, The film is very interesting. About Waris Dirie (born in 1965) is a Somali model, author, actress and human rights activist. In 1997, Waris abandoned her modeling career to focus on her work against female circumcision.
I had always heard that Islam allows and encouraged the practice of female circumcision. The problem is not religion in any way. It is the old habit of human beings mix culture with religion. And after all these three million years, this habit is so deeply rooted in the middle of some people who do not bother to question whether or not a religious practice.
The distortion of things is a habit of human being.

The problem is when certain individous live in other countries, (belonging to Europe and other countries) and make a point to continue this practice.
As I have said is prohibited In Islam to harm a woman and is not mentioned in Coran to do such things to a woman.
