"That" God "of Muslims is not the God of Christians"
This false belief probably arose during the Crusades. Christian theologians eager to incite the ignorant masses of Europe to war against the Islamic world, launched this slanderous belief. According to the Church's position at the time, Jews and Muslims were "infidels" for not embracing the divine sonship of Jesus and other doctrines forged by them. This belief has crystallized during the long absence of dialogue between East and West. Today, evangelical preachers and proselytes (through ignorance or malice) are the main propagators of this nonsense. Its characteristic intolerance to all who believe differently to them, takes them to identify the heathen Muslims living in the Middle East in biblical times. Underlying this belief is not intended to make impossible any respectful understanding between Christians and Muslims.
As a tradition born of Abraham, Islam is a monotheistic faith and the God referred to in the Quran is the one and only God, the God of Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and Jesus. The Quran commands the faithful to embrace the faith of Abraham, the original monotheistic faith, free of deviations and innovations of people called the book (Christians and Jews).
Allah is the name of God in Arabic, as well as Jahveh (or Jah) is in Hebrew or the God in English, so even Arab Christians use the name Allah to refer to God.

"Que o "Deus" dos muçulmanos não é o Deus dos Cristãos"
Esta falsa crença provavelmente surgiu durante as Cruzadas. Teólogos cristãos ávidos por incitar as massas ignaras da Europa à guerra contra o mundo islâmico, lançaram esta caluniosa crença. Segundo a posição da Igreja na época, judeus e muçulmanos seriam "infiéis" por não aceitarem a filiação divina de Jesus e outras doutrinas forjadas por eles. Esta crença se cristalizou durante o longo período de ausência de diálogo entre o Ocidente e o Oriente. Na atualidade, prosélitos e pastores evangélicos (por ignorância ou malícia) são os principais propagadores dessa tolice. Sua característica intolerância a todos que crêem de modo diferente ao deles, os leva a identificar os muçulmanos aos povos pagãos que viviam no oriente médio nas épocas bíblicas. Por trás dessa crença há a intenção de tornar impossível qualquer entendimento respeitoso entre cristãos e muçulmanos.
Sendo uma tradição nascida de Abraão, o Islam é uma fé monoteísta e o Deus referido no Alcorão é o mesmo e único Deus, o Deus de Abraão, de Ismael, de Issac, de Jacó e de Jesus. O Alcorão ordena aos fiéis a abraçarem a Fé de Abraão, a fé monoteísta original, livre dos desvios e inovações dos chamados povos do livro (cristãos e judeus).
Allah é o nome de Deus em idioma árabe, assim como Jahveh (ou Jah) o é em Hebraico ou God em inglês, assim, mesmo os cristãos árabes utilizam o nome Allah ao se referirem a Deus.
